How Listings Are Verified
Every listing on RentWithoutBroker.in passes through our multi-step verification process:
Mobile Verified
Every owner verifies their mobile number via OTP before they can list a property. This ensures we have a real, working contact number for every listing on the platform.
Email Verified
Owners confirm a valid email address during registration. Email verification adds a second layer of accountability and enables important account notifications.
Selfie Verified
Owners can optionally submit a real-time selfie that our admin team reviews to confirm identity. Selfie-verified listings carry extra trust weight in search results.
Admin Verified
Our team manually reviews listings for quality, accuracy, and compliance before they go live. Suspicious listings are flagged, hidden, or rejected during this review.
Fraud Prevention Methods
Our intelligent systems and dedicated team work around the clock to detect and eliminate fraud:
Duplicate Detection
Our system automatically cross-checks listings across phone numbers, addresses, titles, and image hashes to identify and flag duplicate or near-duplicate listings.
Broker Detection
Accounts with excessive listings, repeated user reports, or patterns consistent with brokerage behavior are flagged as "Potential Broker" and reviewed by our team.
Photo Requirements
Every listing must include a minimum of 5 photos covering required rooms. Low-quality, stock, or irrelevant images trigger manual review.
Quality Scoring
Each listing receives a quality score based on photo count, description completeness, verification level, and detail accuracy — surfacing the best listings first.
Community Reporting
Users can report listings for fraud, misrepresentation, or broker behavior. Reports are reviewed by our admin team within 24-48 hours with swift action taken.
Listing Freshness
Listings automatically expire after 30 days unless renewed by the owner. Expired listings are hidden from search, ensuring tenants only see active, current properties.
Verified Owner Program
Owners progress through four verification levels — Mobile, Email, Selfie, and Admin. Each level adds another layer of trust.
Listings from fully verified owners display a Verified Owner badge and receive priority placement in search results. Tenants can rent with confidence knowing the owner has been thoroughly vetted by our team.
Fresh Listings, Always
Nothing is more frustrating than finding the perfect property, only to discover it was rented weeks ago. That's why we actively monitor listing freshness:
- Listings expire automatically after 30 days unless renewed by the owner
- Expired listings are immediately hidden from search results
- Freshness badges show when a listing was posted or last updated
- Owners receive reminders to renew or mark listings as rented
Community Reporting
Found something suspicious? Every listing has a Report Listing button. Our community is our first line of defense against fraud.
Reports are reviewed by our admin team within 24-48 hours. Depending on the severity and evidence, we may:
- Hide the listing from search pending investigation
- Remove the listing permanently if fraud is confirmed
- Suspend or permanently ban fraudulent accounts
- Report confirmed fraudsters to relevant authorities when appropriate

While we work hard to keep our platform safe, here are steps you can take to protect yourself:
Verify Before You Visit
Always check the verification badges on a listing. Prioritize listings with multiple verification levels for added confidence.
Check Listing Freshness
Freshness badges tell you when a listing was posted or last updated. Prefer listings marked "Listed Today" or "Updated Recently."
Never Pay Brokers
If someone asks for a "brokerage fee" or "commission," they are violating our platform rules. Report them immediately and do not pay.
Trust Your Instincts
If a deal seems too good to be true, it might be. Always visit the property in person, verify ownership documents, and sign a proper rental agreement.
